STARKVILLE, Miss. — The 22nd-ranked LSU men’s basketball team squandered a 11-point lead with 5:41 left in the game to fall to Mississippi State, 68-66, Wednesday night in Starkville. The loss was the Tigers’ 18th straight SEC road loss.
Derrick Zimmerman hit a 24-foot desperation shot as the shot clock expired with 19 seconds left in the game to give the Bulldogs (12-8, 3-4 SEC) a three-point lead, 68-65. LSU (16-4, 3-4 SEC) failed to score a field goal in the final five minutes.
