BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. — After leading through day one, the LSU men’s golf team finished third in the team competition at The Bridges All-American golf tournament Tuesday in Bay St. Louis, Miss.
Georgia State won the tournament with an 8-over par 872, followed by Alabama-Birmingham at 873. Individually, Georgia State’s Jack Croyle took the title with a 5-under par 211.
After scoring a first-round 287 on the par 72 course, LSU kept pace with a second-round score of 290 before losing ground in the final round with a 302, 14-over par. This was the Tigers’ first tournament of the 2000 Spring season.
Four of the five Tigers finished in the Top 20 individually, led by Alan Morgan and Michael Vallillo who both finished tied for ninth overall with a 3-over par 219. Redshirt freshman John Humphries, who was third after the first round, finished in a tie for 13th with a 4-over 220.
