DALLAS — LSU’s Tom Hand and Michal Chmela were ousted from both the singles and doubles draws of the Rolex National Indoor Championships’ second round Friday afternoon in Dallas, Texas.
Hand, ranked 13th nationally, fell to Notre Dame’s Ryan Sachire, 6-3, 6-4. Meanwhile, 15th-ranked Chmela was also defeated, 6-3, 6-4, by Florida’s Jeff Morrison (seeded second).
In doubles play, the team of Hand and Chmela lost to Southern Methodist’s team of Toby Hansson and Jon Wallmark, 6-3 6-7 (5), 7-6 (3), in the quarterfinal round.
LSU returns to action as a team on Feb. 24 when it begins play at the ITA Team Indoor National Championships to be held in Louisville, Ky.
