BATON ROUGE- The LSU soccer team landed its third significant signee from the state of Louisiana and its eight overall signee, as head coach George Fotopoulos received a letter of intent from Colleen Zimmerman of Kenner to join the Tigers next fall.
Zimmerman is one of the top forwards in Louisiana and has accounted for 51 goals over the past two seasons at Archbishop Chapelle High School in Metairie.
“We’re extremely excited that Colleen has decided to make LSU a part of her future,” said Fotopoulis. “We made a strong commitment to get the top players from the state of Louisiana and Colleen is one of those players. She will help us tremendously.”
Zimmerman has been an All-District selection in each of her first three seasons and tied for scoring lead in her district in 1998. She has served as team captain since her sophomore season.
Zimmerman has played for the Lafreniere Sting on the club level since 1996 and has been a member of the Louisiana Olympic Development Program since 1998.
