SHREVEPORT, La. — Playing host to Centenary College miles from home, the LSU men’s basketball team overcame a lackluster first half to defeat the Gents, 80-52, Tuesday night in the Hirsch Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport.
Torris Bright led the Tigers with 19 points, including 5-of-6 from three-point range. Jabari Smith added 16 points while Stromile Swift score 14 in his homecoming.
LSU improved to 9-0 on the season and continued to be one of 10 NCAA Division I schools without a loss in the 1999 season. Six of these 10 schools are ranked in the Associated Press Top 25. LSU received 14 votes for the poll, and remains unranked through six weeks of voting.
LSU has yet ot recieve a vote in the USA Today/ESPN coaches’ poll.
