BATON ROUGE — LSU’s 13th-ranked women’s basketball team received another boost on Thursday as College Sports-Southeast announced that it will televise seven Lady Tiger games this year as part of its Southeastern Conference package.

Four of the seven LSU games will be carried live beginning with the Lady Tigers’ home game on Jan. 6 against Tennessee. Other live contest from Baton Rouge include LSU against Vanderbilt on Feb. 17 and the Lady Tigers versus Florida on Feb. 24. LSU’s road game against Auburn on Feb. 6 will also be carried live.
In addition to the four live telecasts, College Sports-Southeast will also have three LSU games tape delayed. LSU’s games against North Carolina-Asheville on Nov. 23, Mercer on Dec. 19, and Jackson State on Dec. 28 will all be televised on a tape-delay basis.
The addition of the seven College Sports-Southeast telecasts brings LSU total to a school-record 11 television appearances this year. LSU opens its season at the Four in the Fall Classic on Nov. 20 in a game televised nationally by the Lifetime Network. The Lady Tigers also appear on ESPN2 twice, hosting Michigan on Dec. 11 and Arkansas on Feb. 12, and LSU’s game at Kentucky on Jan. 20 will be on Fox Sports Net.
“Anytime you can get this type of exposure, it only helps your program,” LSU coach Sue Gunter said. “It helps all phases of your program, in particular recruiting. I think our 11 television appearances says a great deal about the progress that we have made.”
