Will Franques

In 2024-25, Will Franques entered his first year as a graduate assistant for LSU Athletics Communications and his fourth year working within the department.

Franques began his career as a volunteer intern in August 2021 and has been a reliable asset since then, working in various capacities at a variety of LSU athletic events throughout his first three years with the department.

Franques’ main role is to assist the primary SID for LSU Football by managing setting up and executing press conferences for head coach Brian Kelly as well as the LSU Football players, ensuring football home games are staffed and run smoothly, as well as completing any other related tasks as needed.

He is also the secondary contact for LSU Soccer, where his main duties are to assist the SID at all home games, write player bios and feature stories, and other tasks as assigned.

He is also responsible for managing and directing the student staff within the department in tandem with other staff members. This includes responsibilities such as scheduling student meetings, teaching members of the student staff the various skills required to work athletic events, and ensuring that all athletics events are properly staffed by student workers.

He also contributes to LSU Athletics’ internal health and wellness blog, Healthy Tiger. He is responsible for working with student athletes and staff members to cultivate content that is relevant for members of the LSU Athletics community.

He has also served as a Student Data and Analytics Manager for LSU Baseball since 2022 and was a part of the historic 2023 national championship winning Tigers team.

Franques earned his undergraduate degree from LSU in May of 2023 (B.S. – Sport Management). He is scheduled to graduate from LSU’s Pinkie Gordon Lane Graduate School in May of 2025 with a Master of Science degree in Sport Management.
