Shawn Facione Season 2020-21
Shawn Facione joined the LSU football athletic development staff in December of 2021. He currently serves as an assistant athletic development coach and reconditioning coordinator. In this role, Shawn is responsible for assisting with injury mitigation, evaluation, management, and the physical reconditioning of injured athletes.
Prior to coming to LSU, Shawn served as an assistant strength and conditioning coordinator at the University of Florida under Head Strength Coach Nick Savage.
Preceding coaching in Gainesville, Facione worked as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Florida Atlantic University under Head Strength Coach Joey Guarascio. While at FAU he assisted with the football team along with directing and overseeing all aspects of the football nutrition department.
Before working at FAU, he worked as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Tennessee at Martin working with the football team along with overseeing baseball and the equestrian strength and conditioning programs.
Prior to UT Martin, Facione worked as a strength and conditioning intern at Ole Miss under Head Strength Coach Paul Jackson. While at Ole Miss he assisted with the football team along with Olympic sports of baseball, volleyball and cheer.
He began his coaching career as an intern at the University of Cincinnati under Director of Olympic Strength and Conditioning Kelly Power. He worked with Olympic sports of baseball, women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, women’s soccer, swimming and diving, women’s cross country and cheer.
Facione is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, and USA Weightlifting Level 1 Certified.
Shawn was born and raised in Marion, Ohio. He received his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Capital University.
