Shawn Facione Season 2020-21
Shawn Facione joined the LSU football staff in 2022 and serves as assistant development coach for the Tigers. Facione’s strength and conditioning efforts have played a key role in the Tigers winning 10 games in both 2022 and 2023 and claiming the SEC Western Division title in 2022.
He previously worked at Florida Atlantic for head coach Willie Taggart.
Facione served as a graduate assistant at Tennessee-Martin after spending the 2018 season at Ole Miss as an intern under Paul Jackson. While at Ole Miss, he assisted with the football team as well as baseball, volleyball and cheer. He implemented team strength, speed, and conditioning programs along with the supervision and upkeep of athletic performance facilities
He began his coaching career as an intern at Cincinnati where he worked with the Olympic sports of women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, women’s soccer, swimming and diving, women’s cross country and cheer
Facione played collegiate football at Capital University where he was a four-year linebacker from 2014-17
He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Capital University in 2017. He holds a certification from the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
