Ricky Jackson Season 2024
Ricky Jackson joined the LSU football staff in August of 2024 and serves as the assistant director of football operations for the Tigers.
Jackson arrived at LSU following three years as director of football operations/player personnel at Southern University.
Prior to his time at Southern, Jackson spent four seasons (2019-22) in the same role at Prairie View A&M University where he is responsible for the team budget, managing home and away travel, coordinating summer camps and coaching clinics, and serving as the pro scout liaison. He also oversaw the daily operations for the football program.
Prior his stint at Prairie View, Jackson worked as the director of football operations and as a graduate assistant coach at Grambling under head coach Doug Williams. As a graduate assistant, his responsibilities included serving assistant offensive line coach, scouting future opponents or potential recruits, breaking down and evaluating film, and coordinating day-to-day interactions between coaches and players.
As a two-year starter at Grambling, Jackson played under head coach Rod Broadway. In his first season at Grambling in 2008, the Tigers claimed both the Black College National Championship and Southwestern Athletic Conference title. He was named team captain as a senior. As an offensive lineman, he helped pave the way for running back Frank Warren, who became the school’s all-time leading rusher with 3,910 yards.
A native of Los Angeles, he was a standout at powerhouse Serra High School, followed by two years at West Los Angeles Junior College.
Jackson graduated from Grambling with a degree in kinesiology with an emphasis on sports management. He followed that with a master’s degree in sports administration in 2014.
Jackson has two children – Keilan and Karter.
