Noah Joseph joined the LSU coaching staff in February of 2025 and serves as a defensive analyst for the Tigers. Joseph comes to LSU with nearly 25 years of collegiate coaching experience on his resume.

He spent the past two seasons as the general manager for the Purdue football program.

Prior to his time at Purdue, Joseph was a defensive analyst at Missouri for two seasons, working with current LSU defensive coordinator Blake Baker in 2022.

Before his two seasons at Missouri, Joseph served as co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach for Rutgers in 2018 and 2019.

Joseph spent four seasons in the Big Ten as a member of the Indiana coaching staff where he oversaw the safeties and served as recruiting coordinator on the defensive side of the ball. The Hoosiers played in bowl games in 2015 and 2016.

In 2017, the Hoosiers ranked fourth in the Big Ten in passing defense, and in 2016, the Joseph-coached secondary accounted for 13 takeaways, while Marcelino Ball, Jonathan Crawford and Tony Fields were third, fourth and fifth, respectively on the team in tackles. In his first season at Indiana, Joseph’s safeties accounted for seven of IU’s 13 interceptions.

Prior to his stint at Indiana, Joseph spent two seasons at North Texas as the safeties coach and recruiting coordinator in 2012 and 2013. While there, the Mean Green finished 2013 with a 9-4 record and won the Heart of Dallas Bowl. The nine wins tied for the second-most victories in program history. Joseph coached a pair of All-Conference USA selections that season in Marcus Trice and Lairamie Lee, including a safeties group that had eight interceptions, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

Joseph served as co-defensive coordinator in 2011 at Montana State and was the secondary coach and recruiting coordinator from 2007-10. In 2011, Montana State won 10 games and advanced to the second round of the FCS Playoffs.

At Montana State under Joseph, the Bobcats secondary led the Big Sky Conference in pass efficiency defense (18th nationally) and pass defense (22nd nationally). Montana State finished 27th in the country in total defense and recorded 44 sacks, which led the league and ranked seventh in the nation.

During his four seasons at Eastern Illinois University from 2003-06, Joseph produced one of the top pass efficiency defenses in the nation in 2005 as the Panthers won the Ohio Valley Conference, advanced to the FCS Playoffs and posted a 9-3 record. In 2006, Eastern Illinois finished as co-champions of the OVC and again reached the FCS Playoffs.

He also worked as a graduate assistant at Drake University (2000), Eastern Kentucky University (2001) and Iowa State University (2002).

Joseph played collegiately at Drake, where he earned Academic All-Pioneer Football League honors and was captain of the 1998 team. Joseph holds the school record for the longest interception return (100 yards) at Wayne (Neb.) State in 1997. He received his degree from Drake in 1999 and a master’s degree from Iowa State in 2003.

Joseph and his wife Lyla have two daughters – Lily and Chloe.
