Mekha Omarimuhammad
Mekha Omarimuhammad joined the LSU Athletic Training staff in 2024.
Omarimuhammad worked as an athletic training camp intern for the Minnesota Vikings during the 2022 and 2023 season before heading to Cedar City, where she primarily worked with the Southern Utah University women’s basketball team.
As an undergrad, Omarimuhammad earned a bachelor of science in kinesiology from the University of Nevada, Reno where she interned with the football team and went on to earn a master of athletic training from Weber State University.
While in grad school she assisted in the day-to-day athletic training operations with the Wildcats football, women’s basketball, soccer, and softball teams. She is a member of the industries’ professional organization, the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA). Omarimuhammad is certified Dry Needling (DN-1, DN-2) and has also been trained in QPR suicide training.
Omarimuhammad lives in Baton Rouge with her dog, Jameson. Her hobbies include trying out new local coffee shops and adventuring outdoors.
