Matthew Montgomery currently serves as the General Manager for Alex Box Stadium. He was elevated to his current role in August of 2022 after serving on the equipment staff for several years.
As the General Manager for Alex Box Stadium, Matthew is responsible for overseeing the management/coordination of day-to-day operations as well as athletic events and special events hosted at the venue.
He’s also responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, upkeep, planning, and implementation of maintenance projects for Alex Box Stadium. Matthew also orders and fits Nike apparel and Marucci baseball equipment for the LSU Baseball team and staff.
Prior to moving to the Operations Department, Matthew served as the Director of Equipment-Olympic Sports at LSU. His duties included overseeing the Jeff Boss locker room in Tiger Stadium, shipping & receiving for the entire athletic department and giving tours of Tiger Stadium. Other tasks included overseeing equipment needs for baseball, softball, soccer, swimming & diving, cheerleaders and the Tiger Girls.
Before joining the equipment staff at LSU, Matthew spent four years at Marucci Sports where he served as the Production Manager with responsibilities that include helping make wood bats and custom apparel for the team sales department.
Matthew was born and raised in Springhill, Louisiana. He received his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the Louisiana State University in May 2009 and master’s degree in Sports Management from Louisiana State University in May 2011. He is a member of ABCA (American Baseball Coaches Association).
Matthew is married to Madison Pizzolato, and they have one child – Amelia Anne Montgomery.
