Matt Jakoubek
Matt Jakoubek, who has worked in LSU’s athletics compliance office since 2013, was named Associate AD/Compliance in November 2019.
He has also served as Assistant AD/Compliance, Director of Compliance and Compliance Coordinator during his professional career at LSU.
His primary responsibilities include answering questions and providing interpretation on NCAA, SEC and institutional rules and regulations to coaches, staff, student-athletes and various other entities associated with LSU athletics.
Jakoubek also conducts rules education meetings with coaches and staff, investigates and files NCAA and/or SEC violations, and prepares and submits NCAA & SEC waiver requests.
Prior to arriving at LSU, Jakoubek worked for 2.5 years as Compliance Coordinator at the University of Rhode Island. At URI, he handled the day-to-day operations of the compliance office, and he maintained the Athlete-Agent Registration Program to help student-athletes and their parents with the agent process.
Jakoubek began his compliance career in 2008 at Colorado State, where he worked as Compliance Intern.
A native of Garner, Iowa, Jakoubek earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts in 2005 from the University of Northern Iowa and a master’s of education with an emphasis in athletics administration in 2010.
Jakoubek is married to his wife, Joslyn. The couple reside in Baton Rouge.
