Matt Hancock
Matt Hancock returns to the LSU equipment staff and enters his first season as a full-time staff member ahead of the 2024-25 season. In his role, Hancock will oversee the day-to-day equipment operations of both the swimming and diving and track & field programs as well as the operation of LSU Athletics’ mail room.
Hancock began his career in equipment as a student equipment manager with LSU Football in 2019 and served in that role for four years. As a student manager, he helped oversee the arrival and distribution of Nike orders, set up and tear down of team practices, game day equipment preparations and assist in coordinating photoshoots for recruiting visits.
The Houston, Texas native also served as a team equipment manager for the 2023 Reese’s Senior Bowl, where he managed set up and tear down of team practices, worked with the Special Teams group during practices, and helped set up the team locker room on game day.
Following his graduation from LSU with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Administration and minors in Business Administration and Religious Studies in May 2023, Hancock spent the 2023-24 season as an intern at the University of Oregon. While in Eugene, he primarily worked with the baseball, soccer and acrobatics and tumbling programs as well as served as an NCAA equipment postseason committee member.
