Luke Ashley
In 2025-26, Luke Ashley enters his third year with LSU Athletics as a student worker for the Communications department.
A native of New Orleans, La., Ashley was hired as a volunteer intern in May 2023 and gained varied experience working at several sporting events throughout the athletic season.
In February 2024, he became the softball team’s student communications assistant. In this position, Ashley aided the primary SID with writing player bios and game recaps, distributing game programs and in-game clippings, navigating the record book, and assisting with press conferences.
He earned more responsibility and became the primary contact for the women’s tennis team in June 2024. In this role, he oversees the team’s communications needs, including developing and implementing social media strategies, crafting press releases, and acting as the main point of contact for media inquiries related to the program.
In his first year in this role during the 2024-25 season, the women’s tennis accounts gained over 4.2 million views/impressions – ranking second in the SEC – as well as 112,000 engagements, and over 100,000 likes.
Ashley was a part of a historic 24-8 season, tied for program-best, and a program-leading 10 regular-season conference wins, coupled with three All-American selections and eight SEC award recognitions. LSU reached the Elite Eight for the first time in program history.
Ashley is on pace to graduate in December 2025 with a bachelor’s in sports administration with a concentration in sports commerce. He will attend LSU’s Graduate School in 2026 to pursue a degree in Leadership and Human Resource Development.
