Layne Courter

Layne Courter joined the sports medicine staff January 2024 as an intern athletic trainer working with the football team.

Prior to joining the Tigers, Layne worked as a seasonal intern for the New York Jets.

She received her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from James Madison University. She completed her master’s degree in exercise physiology with a concentration in athletic training at Kent State University. At Kent State, Courter worked as a graduate assistant working primarily with football and softball.

Courter worked to complete her Corrective Exercise Specialist certification in 2021.

Courter is originally from Richmond, Virginia. She loves lifting, being outdoors, and eating good food.
