JR Belton

JR Belton, a former standout high school quarterback at West Monroe who later played at Louisiana Tech, serves as LSU’s Director of Recruiting. Belton plays a vital role in all areas in regards to recruiting and he was instrumental in LSU’s signing one of the nation’s top classes in December of 2022. The Tigers also had a Top 10 signing class in 2024.

Among Belton’s daily responsibilities include managing the experience of prospects when they come to campus as well as developing strategies in the recruitment of players.

Belton joined the LSU football staff in the spring of 2021, serving as the director of scouting. He was elevated to his current role of director of recruiting a year later.

Other stops for Belton prior to coming to LSU include serving as a regional scout for the University of Virginia football team for one year as well as working as a recruiting intern for the Louisiana Tech football program.

Belton was a star quarterback at West Monroe High School in north Louisiana during his prep career. He led West Monroe to an 11-1 mark as a senior. He went on to play college football at Louisiana Tech. He graduated from Tech in 2019 with a business degree.
