Harrison Valentine
Harrison Valentine enters his first season as Assistant Director of Strategic Initiatives and his sixth season overall with LSU Athletics.
In this role, Valentine will work closely with athletics administration on brand discovery, brand strategy, strategic messaging, written storytelling and Name, Image & Likeness, while also overseeing all production efforts for the Hey Fightin’ Podcast Network, the official podcast network of LSU Sports. Valentine will also manage all social media accounts for LSU+, the athletic department’s premium content subscription service. He will also use analytics and social media benchmarking to inform decision-making within the external areas of the department to advance the brand of LSU and its student-athletes.
Valentine was previously a Digital Media GA, where he oversaw eight shows (Tigers Win, Play by Play, Hey Fightin’ Podcast, Hearing Voices, Cutting Edge, The Real Deal, Where’s That Tiger, Geaux Big with B). Under his coordination, the network garnered over one million plays on all platforms. He also served as an in-house digital writer, where he wrote human interest pieces, press releases and scripts for social media videos.
During his undergraduate years with the department (2019-2022), Valentine focused primarily on storytelling and written content through player profiles, feature pieces and game stories, which were published on LSUsports.net, LSU football game programs and on the school’s various social media accounts.
He also co-hosted Boot Up: The LSU Basketball Podcast, which featured game recaps and reactions, as well as exclusive interviews with coaches and players.
In June of 2021, Valentine won three first place awards from the Louisiana Sports Writers Association in their annual contest. He also captured a pair of first place honors in 2023 – one for his feature on LSU ace Paul Skenes and the other for a column on former women’s basketball star Seimone Augustus.
The New Jersey native graduated from LSU with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication in May of 2022 and a master’s degree in Sports Management in May of 2024.
