Bill Franques
Bill Franques has worked as the LSU Baseball communications director since 1989. He is the Alex Box Stadium public address announcer and the color analyst on LSU Sports Radio Network broadcasts of baseball road games.
Franques is serving during the 2024 football season as the Tiger Stadium public address announcer while longtime stadium voice Dan Borne’ addresses health concerns.
Franques is the narrator for “The Path,” the weekly LSU Football television and online program that features coach Brian Kelly, game highlights and a behind-the-scenes look at the Tigers.
He serves as managing editor of LSU’s football, men’s basketball and baseball game programs. His LSU football game program has been voted best in the nation by College Sports Communicators, and his baseball media guide has four times been named best in the nation by CSC.
Franques is the athletics communications liaison to the LSU Athletics Hall of Fame Election Board, which evaluates and votes on nominees for Hall of Fame induction, jersey retirement and recognition by statue.
Franques was the producer and co-host from 2010-22 of LSU Tiger Tracks, a weekly television program featuring LSU sports personalities, and he worked from 2016-22 as the host of LSU Sixty, a weekly radio program during football season that interviews with coaches and administrators.
Franques worked from 1997-2000 both as the LSU baseball administrative assistant and the baseball communications director. His administrative duties included coordinating team travel, organizing fundraising events and booster club meetings, and overseeing office operations.
He received a bachelor of arts degree from LSU in 1985. The Lafayette, La., native is married to the former Yvette Lemoine of Bunkie, La., and they have three children – William, Ben and Madeline.
