Alexa Rodriguez
Alexa Rodriguez holds a B.S. in Dietetics and a B.S. in Exercise Physiology from the Florida State University. Upon completing her bachelor’s degree, she continued at Florida State University where she received her Master’s in Exercise Physiology with an emphasis in sports nutrition. While completing her master’s degree she also worked with the football team from 2017-2018. During her dietetic internship she had the opportunity to work with US Army Special Forces Center of Excellence where she provided 1-on-1 nutrition education, group counseling ranging from 15-150 soldiers, hydration testing, body composition testing, and worked with the head chef at one of the dining facilities to ensure performance-based menus were being offered.
Following graduation, she worked as a Sports Dietitian Fellow at the University of North Carolina from 2019-2020, primarily responsible for football and men’s basketball. Additionally, Rodriguez served as the Director of Performance Nutrition at the University of South Florida overseeing all 17 sports and serving as the first ever full-time dietitian. She built the program from the ground up and created the first ever athletic dining facility. Other previous experience includes working as a Performance Dietitian at EXOS, as a community dietitian at Women, Infant, and Children, and as a clinical dietitian at Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center.
Rodriguez is a credentialed Registered Dietitian (RD) and Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD). She is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN), and the Collegiate & Professional Sports Dietitian Association (CPSDA).
