REDSHIRT SENIOR SEASON (2024-25)
Earned 13 overall wins in the fall and spring campaign on the back three courts behind one ranked victory and two wins in conference play… Highlight victories include the clinching point in LSU’s 4-2 victory over Kentucky on Feb. 28 against Ellie Myers, 6-1, 7-6(2)…Came in relief to compete on the No. 6 court in LSU’s NCAA Super Regional bout on May 9 against No. 4 Ohio State and pulled off a historic 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 win over then-No. 112 Audrey Spencer to clinch the 4-2 match win for LSU to lift the club to its first ever NCAA Elite Eight…Concluded the season with an ITA singles ranking of No. 108…Earned 12 overall doubles victories in the dual season with three different partners, most notably an 8-5 record with Kenna Erickson on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts…Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll…Earned a spot on the SEC Community Service Team for the second time…As a result of her efforts in the community, was the recipient of the Southern Region Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award…Earned her second varsity letter at LSU.
Concluded her LSU career with 20 overall singles victories and 21 overall doubles victories in 71 total matches with an all-time winning percentage of .578.
REDSHIRT JUNIOR SEASON (2023-24)
Earned seven singles wins and nine doubles wins after joining the program January … Her five singles wins in SEC play was tied for the most on the team … Struck up a strong doubles partnership with Maya Tahan in doubles, going 9-6 playing at the No. 2 & 3 courts together … Biggest wins of the season came in the first Round of the NCAA Tournament against Baylor, where her and Tahan helped the Tigers secure the doubles point before Rivera came from behind in singles to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 to give LSU its first NCAA Tournament win since 2021 … Named to the 2024 SEC Women’s Tennis Community Service Team … Earned her first varsity letter at LSU.
PRIOR TO LSU
Guatemalan international with experience representing her country at elite level of tennis … Transferred in as a junior after spending 2023 at the University of Miami … Enrolled at Galileo University in her home country of Guatemala prior to coming to the United States in 2023 … Earned individual glory with a singles title at an ITF W15 Cancun in 2022 and making multiple singles and doubles quarterfinals and semi-finals in other ITF tournaments … Competed for her home country of Guatemala at the prestigious Billy Jean King Cup four straight tournaments in 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023 … Decorated playing career as a junior, earning a bronze medal at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Championships and two gold medals at the 2015 Central American Games … Competed in three of the four junior Grand Slams, making appearances at the junior French Open, U.S. Open and Wimbledon … Risen as high as No. 705 in the WTA singles rankings and peaked at No. 35 as a junior in the ITF’s junior rankings.
