Joe Carvalhido Season 2024-25
Joe Carvalhido completed his eighth and final season season with the Lady Tiger basketball program in 2007-08.
During his time at LSU, Carvalhido was part of all five of LSU’s Final Four appearances, three Southeastern Conference regular season titles and the 2003 SEC Tournament title.
The New York City native came to LSU after working as a graduate assistant at St. John’s University. His duties with the Lady Tigers included coordinating travel and film exchange, purchasing equipment, heading the Junior Fast Break Club and supervising team managers.
At St. John’s, Carvalhido performed similar duties, including coordinating film exchanges, maintaining a recruiting database, purchasing equipment, supervising conditioning workouts and assisting with game operations and ticket sales. He also assisted with position work for the St. John’s guards, and was responsible for preparing the scout team for practice sessions.
From 1997-99, Carvalhido worked as the administrative assistant for the Players Choice Basketball Camp in Queens, N.Y., where he maintained an enrollment database, supervised all on-site activities and coordinated scheduling for over 150 high school players.
Carvalhido, an avid N.Y. Mets fan, is a regular speaker at the annual Women’s Basketball Coaches Association convention. He is also a member of the three-time Nike “Full Court Pressure” trivia challenge championship team along with former LSU Associate Sports Information Director Brian Miller.
Carvalhido earned a bachelor’s of science degree in sports management from St. John’s in 1999.
