Angela Jones Season 2024-25
Angela Jones brings a wealth of marketing and sales experience into her first season at LSU as director of basketball operations.
Jones, 26, comes to LSU after serving as a sales representative for Abbott Laboratories in Tuscaloosa, Ala., for two years. The Chicago based corporation recently made the “Most Respected Companies” list of Barron’s financial magazine.
During her tenure, she was a key figure in executing the company’s brand strategy while utilizing her marketing and selling skills in the community.
At LSU, Jones will serve as the liaison to the team and head coach Van Chancellor’s community efforts while also assisting in the day-to-day operations of the program and the Fast Break Club.
“We are excited about the addition of Angela to our staff,” said Chancellor. “She is a great person with outstanding people skills that will benefit our program in a number of areas. Her background in sales and community involvement is an important reason we hired her. She will use those skills to help our program, alumni and fans.”
Prior to her responsibilities at Abbott Laboratories, Jones was a sales representative at Novartis Pharmaceuticals in Meridian. In two years, she quickly established herself in the profession as she was the recipient of the Rising Star Award while ranking in the top eight representatives in the entire region. On numerous occasions, she led the district in call plan attainment.
Jones got her start in marketing and sales as a student assistant in the marketing and promotions office at Mississippi State University. She assisted in the department’s marketing efforts of all sports, recruiting sponsors and local businesses for athletic events and maximizing ticket sales efforts.
Jones was a three-year varsity cheerleader at Mississippi State and a member of the American Marketing Association. She served as chairman of policies and procedures for her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta. The group was an active participant in raising money for victims of Hurricane Katrina. Jones was a member of the homecoming court as a junior.
A native of Meridian, Miss., Jones received her bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing in 2006 from Mississippi State. She is a 2002 graduate of Meridian High School.
