Recorded a season-best time of 47.81 in the 400 meters at the SEC Outdoor Championships … Clocked an indoor-best time of 49.40 at the Purple Tiger Invitational … Ran the event in 49.66 at the indoor conference meet … Served as an alternate on the Tigers’ 4×400-meter relay team … Ran the 200 meters in 22.34 at the LSU Last Ditch.

Freshman Season (2001)
A member of LSU’s NCAA champion 4×400-meter relay team during the indoor season … Ran the third leg on that relay team that helped the Tigers clinch the NCAA team title while posting the fastest time in the world — 3:04.44 … Finished seventh in the 400-meter dash at the SEC Indoor Championships … Ran a season-best time of 47.25ot during the prelims … Ran the third leg on the SEC Indoor champion 4×400-meter relay team for the Tigers … Struggled with injuries and missed a good portion of the outdoor season.

Prep Career
Named the Track Athlete of the Year in both 1998 and 2000 at Albuquerque High School in New Mexico … Named the Gatorade Athlete of the Year … Recorded personal bests of 10.51 in the 100 meters, 21.35 in the 200 meters and 47.34 in the 400 meters …Was also awarded the Academic Achievement Award while at Albuquerque.
