Freshman season (2001)
Joined the Tigers for the outdoor season and quickly made her mark in the javelin, coming up with a throw of 143-8 at the LSU Alumni Gold Relays … The mark ranks eighth in school history in the event … Gives the Lady Tigers a strong young nucleus of javelin throwers with Amy Higginbotham and Maria Romero … Finished third in the javelin at the SEC Outdoor Championships in Columbia, coming up with a throw of 142-5, just off her season best.

Prep career
Very versatile athlete, she was named all-state in basketball, earned five letters in track and field were she earned three state championships and was also named all-state in volleyball…Was a Wendy’s High School Heisman National Finalist…Graduated with a 3.95 (on a 4.0 scale)…Earned four outstanding field woman awards throughout her career at Delcambre…Won the State Championship in the Javelin from 1997-’99 and still holds the Class A state record in the javelin set in 1997.
