Represented the Tigers at the SEC Indoor Championships in long jump (fifth place), high jump (10th place), and triple jump (13th place)… opened the season up with a first-place finish in long jump at the LSU Purple Tiger… finished first in high jump and long jump at the LSU Twilight… recorded a season-best jump of 6.32 meters (20’ 9”) at the Tyson Invitational to take second… placed second in high jump at the LSU Bayou Bengal… took fourth at the Red Raider Open in long jump… also finished fourth at the Razorback Invitational in high jump.

2021 OUTDOOR (FRESHMAN AT USC)
Wrapped up a stellar outdoor season with a fourth-place finish in high jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships to earn USTFCCCA First Team All-American honors… qualified for the NCAA West Preliminaries in the high jump, long jump, and triple jump… finished fourth in high jump at the NCAA West Preliminaries… crowned the high jump champion and was a bronze medalist in long jump at the PAC-12 Outdoor Championships… set a triple jump PR of 13.00 meters (42’ 8”) at the UCLA vs USC Dual Meet… also took first in long jump and second in high jump at the UCLA vs USC Dual Meet… ran a 200 meter PR of 24.05 seconds, while also finishing second in long jump and triple jump at the USC Trojan Invitational… finished first in high jump at the Aztec Invitational… finished second in high jump and third in long jump at the Florida Relays… finished top-three in the 100, high jump, and triple jump at the CAL vs USC Dual Meet… took first at the Long Beach Invitational in long jump… USTFCCCA First Team All-American (HJ).

2021 INDOOR (FRESHMAN AT USC)
Finished her freshman indoor season a USTFCCCA First Team All-American in high jump, taking eighth at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a clearance of 1.81 meters (5’ 11.25”)… also finished 14th in long jump to earn USFTCCCA Second Team All-American honors… set the USC indoor high jump record of 1.82 meters (5’ 11.5”) in her second meet of the season at the Razorback Invitational… set her 60 meter PR of 7.49 seconds to take fourth at the Texas Tech Shootout… also placed fifth in high jump at the Texas Tech Shootout… opened her collegiate career with a fourth-place finish in high jump at the Wooo Pig Classic… finished second in long jump at the Razorback Invitational… took first in long jump and third in high jump at the Championships at the Peak meet… USTFCCCA First Team All-American (HJ)… USTFCCCA Second Team All-American (LJ).

PRIOR TO COLLEGE – Panther Creek HS
She was named the 2019 & 2020 North Carolina Gatorade Track & Field Athlete of the Year.  Smalls has PRs of 6-3.25 in the high jump, 42-10.25 in the triple jump, 20-2.25 in the long jump, 11.94 in the 100m, 24.46 in the 200m and 55.45 in the 400m.  She set five North Carolina high school records (indoor & outdoor HJ & LJ and indoor LJ) and won 13 NCHSAA 4A State titles.  She won the gold medal in the high jump at the 2019 New Balance Indoor Nationals with a clearance of 6-3.25, the fourth-highest high school mark all-time. She then won the 2019 New Balance Outdoor Nationals with a clearance of 6-2.25. She led Panther Creek HS to the 2019 North Carolina 4-A title, winning the TJ and HJ and taking second in the LJ and 400m.  She competed for USA at the Pan Am Senior Games in the high jump and placed 10th with a clearance of 5-8.50 (1.74m), with the winner of the event more than twice her age.  At the 2019 Memoria Barrientos in Cuba, she won gold in the HJ at 5-10.5 and was sixth in the TJ at 40-11.5.  She was a 5-time NSAF NBN All American High Jumper, 3-time NSAF NBN All American Triple Jumper and 2-time NSAF NBN All American Long Jumper.  She was also a 6-time SWAC conference MVP and a 4-time NC State MVP.  Other honors included being named the 2019 National Player of the Year, a 2017-2020 All American TF Athlete, a 2020 Honorary All American Athlete, the 2020 State of North Carolina Female Athlete of the Year and the 2019 and 2018 State of North Carolina Female Track and Field Athlete of Year.
