2022 Outdoor (SOPHOMORE)
Claimed the silver at the SEC Championships by posting a career high in the long jump with 6.58 meters … posted the fourth best high jump in LSU women’s history at the NCAA East Preliminary Round with 1.84 meters … took home gold at the Baldy Castillo Invitational in the long jump (6.58m) … posted a career best in the 100 meter at the LSU Invitational (11.51).

2022 Indoor (SOPHOMORE)
Won the gold in multiple events at the LSU Twilight in the high jump (1.74m) and the long jump (6.25m) … placed first at LSU Purple Tiger meet with a long jump of 6.27 meters … represented LSU at the SEC Indoor Championships placing fifth in the long jump (6.25m).

Prior to LSU
Competed for USC during her first collegiate season … two-time First Team All American in the high jump … finished eighth at the 2021 NCAA Indoor Championships in the high jump … took fourth in the high jump at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championships … collegiate personal bests are 6’ 0.50” (1.84 meters) in the high jump and 21’ 5.25” (6.53 meters) in the long jump … Smalls is a 2020 graduate of Panther Creek High in Cary, N.C.  She was named the 2019 & 2020 North Carolina Gatorade Track & Field Athlete of the Year.  Smalls has PRs of 6-3.25 in the high jump, 42-10.25 in the triple jump, 20-2.25 in the long jump, 11.94 in the 100m, 24.46 in the 200m and 55.45 in the 400m.  She set five North Carolina high school records (indoor & outdoor HJ & LJ and indoor LJ) and won 13 NCHSAA 4A State titles.  She won the gold medal in the high jump at the 2019 New Balance Indoor Nationals with a clearance of 6-3.25, the fourth-highest high school mark all-time. She then won the 2019 New Balance Outdoor Nationals with a clearance of 6-2.25. She led Panther Creek HS to the 2019 North Carolina 4-A title, winning the TJ and HJ and taking second in the LJ and 400m.  She competed for USA at the Pan Am Senior Games in the high jump and placed 10th with a clearance of 5-8.50 (1.74m), with the winner of the event more than twice her age.  At the 2019 Memoria Barrientos in Cuba, she won gold in the HJ at 5-10.5 and was sixth in the TJ at 40-11.5.  She was a 5-time NSAF NBN All American High Jumper, 3-time NSAF NBN All American Triple Jumper and 2-time NSAF NBN All American Long Jumper.  She was also a 6-time SWAC conference MVP and a 4-time NC State MVP.  Other honors included being named the 2019 National Player of the Year, a 2017-2020 All American TF Athlete, a 2020 Honorary All American Athlete, the 2020 State of North Carolina Female Athlete of the Year and the 2019 and 2018 State of North Carolina Female Track and Field Athlete of Year.

PERSONAL
Morgan was born on May 11, 2002…Her parents are Vaughn and Nicole Smalls and she has three siblings, Justin, Kirstin and Nolan…Her volunteer work includes cleaning up the Tobacco Trail…One of her hobbies is chrocheting…Her favorite foods are macaroni and cheese, yams, grapes, Twizzlers and her dad’s grilled chicken…Her favorite movie is Nacho Libre and her favorite musical artists are J. Cole, Roddy Ricch and Beyonce…majoring in human biology.
