Lettered four years in both track and cross country at Winnfield High School … Coached by his father Charles Carroll … The state champion in both the 1,600 meters and the 3,200 meters in 2000 … Also won the cross country state title in 1999 … Was the state runner-up in cross country in 1997 and 1998 … Helped his team to consecutive track and cross country district titles from 1997-1999 … Recorded PRs of 2:01 in the 800 meters, 4:34 in the mile, 10:21 in the two miles and 16:10 in the three miles.
