Coming off a tremendous cross country season where he was named the Louisiana Athlete of the Year while qualifying for the NCAA Championships for the second consecutive year … Finished fifth at the SEC Championships, the first Tiger to finish in the top five since Passmore Furusa in 1994 … Went on to finish 44th at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
Junior season (2001)
Fell just short in his quest to qualify for the NCAA Championships for the second consecutive year, running a personal best time of 29:16.82 at the Stanford Invitational … Competed in the 5,000-meter run at the SEC Championships and ran a team-best time of 14:30.38 … During the indoor season he ran the Tigers’ top times at 3,000 and 5,000 meters … Posted a top 3,000 time of 8:21.59 at the LSU Twilight, while clocking a season-best 5,000-meter time of 14:33.07 at the SEC Indoor Championships in Lexington.
Sophomore season (2000)
The SEC runner-up in the 10,000-meter run during the outdoor season, he quickly became the Tigers’ top distance threat … Was a provisional qualifier for the NCAA Championships in the 10,000-meter run, running a season-best time of 29:34.89 in a loaded Penn Relays field … A 5,000-meter threat as well, he finished second at the USTCA National Championships in Austin with a season-best time of 14:26.91 … Finished eighth in the event at the SEC Outdoor meet with a time of 14:28.70 … During the indoor season he finished fifth in the 5,000-meter run at the SEC Championships with a season-best time of 14:25.85 … Also ran the Tigers’ top 3,000-meter time during the indoor season, recording a time of 8:31.77 at the Gator Invitational at Florida.
