Junior season (2001)
Made a significant breakthrough at the SEC Indoor Championships in Lexington, where she captured her first individual title, winning the triple jump with a personal best leap of 43-3 … Qualified for both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships for the third straight year … Finished 13th indoors with a mark of 41-6 1/2 … Finished fourth in the triple jump at the SEC Outdoor Championships with a mark of 42-2 … Was on the brink of missing out on the NCAA Outdoor Championships, but came up with a season-best mark of 43-2 1/4w at the LSU Last Ditch to secure a trip to Eugene … Just missed scoring at the NCAA Outdoor meet, finishing ninth with a mark of 41-7 3/4 … It was her best finish at an NCAA Championship event … Came up with a season-best mark of 20- 1 1/2 in the long jump outdoors at the LSU Alumni Gold Relays … During the indoor season her top mark in the long jump was a leap of 19-8 3/4 at the LSU Purple Tiger Invitational.
Sophomore season (2000)
Continued to build upon a promising freshman season with another strong year … Qualified for both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships in the triple jump and once again was a strong contributor on the SEC level in both the long and triple jumps … Finished third in the triple jump at the SEC Indoor meet, coming up with a jump of 42-7 1/2 … Opened the season on fire with a season-best and indoor PR of 42-11 3/4 at the LSU Purple Tiger … Indoor best in the long jump was 20-4 1/2 at the LSU Last Ditch … Finished 14th at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a jump of 41-0 1/2 … During the outdoor season she finished fourth at the SEC Championships with a mark of 43-10 1/2w … Second best mark of the outdoor season was a jump of 42-4 1/2w at the Texas Relays … Finished 18th in the triple jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a mark of 40-9 1/2 … Top long jump effort of the outdoor season was a 20-2 1/2 mark at the LSU Last Ditch … Finished 10th in the long jump at the SEC Outdoor Championships.
Freshman season (1999)
The SEC Indoor and Outdoor runner-up in the triple jump, she performed well beyond her age in her first season, qualifying for the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships, then winning the USA Junior titles in both the long and triple jumps during the summer of 1999 … Appeared in the Faces In The Crowd Section of Sports Illustrated as a result … Opened her collegiate career with a tremendous performance at the LSU Purple Tiger, recording NCAA provisional marks in both the long (20-0 1/2) and triple (41-8 3/4) jumps … Improved her provisional status in the triple jump at the Hokie Invitational at Virginia Tech, leaping 41-10 3/4 … Came up with a pair of tremendous PRs at the SEC Indoor Championships, jumping an NCAA qualifying 42-8 to finish second in the triple jump and 20-3 to finish sixth in the long jump … Qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championssssships and finished 15th … Finished second during the outdoor season at the U.S. Collegiate Track & Field Series with a jump of 41-0 1/4 … Turned in up once again at the right time, peaking at the SEC meet … Finished second to teammate Keisha Spencer in the triple jump with an NCAA provisional mark of 42-5 1/4 … Also placed fifth in the long jump with a mark of 20-2 1/2 … Qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in her final outing of the season at the LSU Last Ditch, setting a PR with a jump of 42-9 … Went on to finish 11th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, setting another PR with a leap of 42-10 1/2 … Set a PR for the third consecutive time at her next meet, jumping over 43-feet for the first time with a 43-0 1/4 effort to win the USA Junior triple jump title.
Prep career
A talented triple jumper who claimed the Illinois state titles in 1997 and 1998 both indoors and outdoors … Kankakee High School finished fourth at the Illinois State Championship in 1998 … She was the 1996 AAU National triple jump Champion and the third place finisher in 1997 … A versatile athlete, she lettered in volleyball and basketball in addition to track and field … Graduated fifth in a class of 297 students … An Illinois Merit Recognition Scholar, an All-State Scholar and a member of the National Honors Society.
