SENIOR YEAR (2013-14)
Set a career high at the SEC Championships in the 200 breaststroke for the second-fastest time in program history (1:57.22) … Finished third in the ‘B’ final of the 200 breast at the SEC’s … Reached the ‘B’ final of the 100 breast and finished in 16th place overall … Finished fourth in the 100 breast (55.73) at the Texas A&M Invite … Touched the wall second at the A&M Invite in the 200 breast with a mark of 2:00.74 … Took first in the 200 breast (2:01.00) during a dual meet win over SMU … In his final meet of the season against Texas A&M, claimed victory in the 200 breast (2:00.59) and notched second place in the 100 breast (56.25) … Earned his third varsity letter.

JUNIOR SEASON (2012-13)
Paced the Tigers with the fastest team marks in the 200 breaststroke, second fastest 400 individual medley and the third fastest 100 breaststroke 200 individual medley … Took 13th in the 200 beast with a career low time of 1:58.03 at the SEC Championships … Swam to 15th in the 100 breast with a time of 55.01 after swimming a season best 54.43 in prelims at the SEC Championships … Earned NCAA provisional marks in both breaststroke events … Registered his season low in the in the 200 IM (1:49.90) at the Phil Hansel midseason invitational … Touched the wall first in the 200 breast and finished second in the 200 IM and the 100 breast at the midseason meet … Swam his season low in the 400 IM (4:05.47) and won the 100 breast (56.07) in a dual meet with Texas A&M … Totaled 33 points with victories in the 200 IM (1:52.72), 200 breast (2:01.04) and the 400 medley relay and a second swim in the 100 breast in a dual victory over Alabama … Notched a pair of second place swims in the 100 breast (56.23) and the 200 IM (1:53.79) in a victory over SMU … Earned his second varsity letter.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2011-12)
Emerged as the Tiger’s top 200 breast swimmer and also excelled in the 100 breast and the individual medleys …  Swam to fifth in the 100 breast with the program’s fifth fastest mark of 53.91 at the SEC Championships … Qualified for the ‘A’ final of the 200 breast after posting the program’s fifth fastest time of 1:58.27 in the prelims at SEC’s … Registered the program’s ninth best 200 IM mark of 1:49.80 at the conference meet … Besides SEC’s, competed in every dual meet, the Tennessee Invitational and the Bulldog Last Chance meet … Posted a first place finish in the 200 breast (2:00.79) and a 400 IM career low of 4:02.57 against Texas A&M … Swept the breaststroke events against Florida State … Took fourth in the 100 breast (55.26) and fourth in the 200 breast (1:59.74) at the Tennessee Invitational … Finished second in the 100 breast and the 200 breast against Auburn … Cranked out a first place swim in the 200 breast (2:03.17) and a second place swim in the 100 breast (55.64) against Florida … Earned his first varsity letter.

PRIOR TO LSU
Competed at the University of Arizona prior to LSU and was coached by Frank Busch… Member of the Mexican Junior National Team and the Mexican National Team… Sport Athlete of the Year from his high school from 2005-2008…  Swam the 100 and 200 breaststroke as well as the 200 and 400 IM… Boasts 100 breast time of 54.48 and 200 breast time of 2:00.87.

Born June 28, 1990 in Minatilan, Veracruz… Parents are Sergio Alavarado Antonin and Veronica Jimenez Sanchez… Brother, 17, is named Jorge Alvarado Jimenez… Plans to major in marketing.
