Competed in every meet of the season and the SEC Championships for the first time in his career … Swam in three events at SEC’s, 50 and 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke … Was LSU’s second-highest finisher in the 100 breaststroke at the SEC Championships, placing 19th in the prelims with a time of 57.67, a personal best … Finished 35th in the 50 freestyle (21.30) and 42nd (47.22) in the 100 freestyle at SEC’s … Teamed with Martin Latz, Chris Stanczyk and Evan Martinec to win the 200 medley relay in a double-dual meet versus UL-Monroe and Delta State (1:32.58) … A constant leader on the team … Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll and LSU Director’s Cup … Earned third varsity letter.

Swam in six meets during the season, including four different events … Placed fifth in the 50 freestyle with a time of 1:02.38 at the Texas Invitational and was fourth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:00.72 … Competed in SEC meets versus Florida and Tennessee/Kentucky … Swam at the Nike Cup Invitational … Received the “Academic Excellence” award on the team for having the highest GPA on the team for the season … Earned his second varsity letter.

Recorded career-best times in both the 100 breaststroke event and the 50 freestyle competition at the Auburn Invitational … Competed against Georgia in a mid-season dual meet and swam his fastest time of the season in the 100 freestyle event with a mark of 50.39 … Finished the year with a 3.8 overall grade point average in electrical engineering … Earned his first varsity letter.

A Junior National qualifier his senior season … Recorded a Junior National cut time in the 100 breaststroke … Named team captain both his junior and senior years at Catholic High School … Won the Coaches Award in 1999 … Led his team to three-straight Baton Rouge city championships … Finished third in the 100 breaststroke at the Louisiana state championship meet his senior year … Second-place finisher in the 100 breaststroke at the LSS Short Course meet … Named an Advocate Star of Stars … Top-eight finisher in the 50 and 100 freestyle events as well as the 100 and 200 breaststroke competitions … Graduated with honors.
