FRESHMAN SEASON (2023-24)
Opened his first season at LSU by placing seventh in the 100-breast (58.30) and seventh in the 200-breast (2:14.95)… In a tri-team meet with FSU & Alabama, claimed 10th place in the 100-breast (57.77), ninth in the 200-breast (2:07.85) and ninth in the 200-IM (1:54.22)… At the Tigers’ midseason meet in the Art Adamson Invitational, he placed 13th in the 100-breast (56.42), 18th in the 200-breast (2:05.00), and 28th in the 200-IM (1:53.94)… Against Texas A&M, claimed 6th in the 100-breast (56.17), 7th in the 200-breast (2:08.20), and 9th in the 200-IM (1:58.18)… In a dual meet vs. Tennessee, finished in 5th place in the 100-breast (57.27) and 6th place in the 200-breast (2:11.85)

HIGH SCHOOL
Prepped at Venice HS in Venice, Fla… Placed third in the 100-breaststroke at State Championships during his junior year… He is the school record holder in the 200-breaststroke and also holds a part of the school’s 200-medley relay school record

PERSONAL
Full name is Max Henry Eckerman and was born on July 16, 2004… Planned major coming into his first year at LSU is business management and marketing… Has two siblings named Maeve and Parker; his parent’s names are Joel and Anne… An interesting fact: He worked as a Nuisance Alligator Trapper for a year… His mom swam at Ohio State and his dad was a high school basketball state champion… He chose LSU “because of the athletic atmosphere, great coaching staff, and team culture. As soon as I stepped on campus, the heat and southern hospitality made me feel right at home.”
