FRESHMAN SEASON (2023-24)
Opened his first season at LSU by placing sixth in the 200-fly with a time of 1:55.23 and seventh in the 100-fly with a time of 52.00… In a tri-team meet with FSU and Alabama, took seventh in the 100-fly with a time of 50.62 and fourth in the 200-fly with a time of 1:51.80… At the 2023 Art Adamson Invitational, placed 17th in the 100-back (51.00), 11th in the 100-fly (48.99), 10th in the 200-fly (1:48.67), and 27th in the 200-IM (1:51.47)… Against Texas A&M, claimed 5th place in the 100-fly (50.12) and 7th in the 200-fly (1:50.74)… At Tennessee, finished in 7th place in the 100-fly (50.47) and 8th in the 200-fly (1:51.38)… At the 2024 SEC Championships, placed 38th in the 200-fly (1:51.59), 44th in the 200-IM (1:52.01), and 46th in the 100-fly (48.93)
HIGH SCHOOL
Prepped at Calvert Academy in Baltimore, Maryland… Named a National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) Academic All-American… Earned the distinction in 2022 when competing for the Foundation Academy High School Swim Team… Named an All-American for his efforts in the pool in 2022 specifically for the 100-yard butterfly and and 100-yard backstroke
PERSONAL
Full name is Mason Alexander Williams and was born on November 12, 2002… A native of Clermont, Fla., he plans to major in Kinesiology with a concentration in Human Movement Science when he gets on campus for his first year of college… Has two siblings – a brother named Evan and a sister named Ainsley… His parent’s names are Tim and Beth… An interesting fact: “I lived overseas for 11 years”… His father, Tim, is the founder of Norwich University’s tennis program, and his brother also played soccer at Norwich University… He chose LSU because: “I chose LSU for the amazing academic and swim program that they offer. LSU offers an endless amount of academic and athletic resources that will help me succeed and reach all my goals. In addition, I know Coach Bishop and his coaching staff are going to do great things with the LSU Swimming and Diving program. It will be a humbling experience to be with such dedicated teammates, coaches, and the best racing that the SEC and collegiate swimming can offer. Geaux Tigers!!”
