JUNIOR SEASON (2003-04)
Continued her consistency in the water, posting numerous top times in several backstroke events … Qualified for the finals of the 100 backstroke at SEC’s, swimming a time of 56.70 in the prelims … Placed 12th in the 100 back finals and fourth in the consolation final at SEC’s (56.57) … Was also LSU’s highest finisher in the 200 back, earning a 17th-place finish (2:03.96) … The time was the fastest by any Lady Tiger all season … Also participated in two relays at SEC’s with her best finish coming in the 200 medley relay finals … Teamed up to place fifth in that heat (1:43.95) … Was a double winner versus Rice on Jan. 30, capturing the 100 back (57.79) and 200 back (2:05.57) … Swam the fastest time of the season in the 100 back at the Nike Cup Invitational (56.30) … Won the 200 back consolation final at the Nike Cup (2:04.36) … Won the 200 back versus Alabama on Oct. 24 and was victorious in the 100 back versus South Carolina on Nov. 7 … Earned her third varsity letter.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2002-03)
Arguably, the top backstroke swimmer on the team … Swam in every meet of the season and the SEC Championships for the second consecutive year … Finished 11th in the consolation final of the 100 backstroke (55.61) at the SEC Championships … In the prelims of the 100 back, swam a personal-best time of 55.25, a school record and the fastest time of the season … The time placed in the top 45 in the nation … Also held the fastest time of the season in the 50 back, 25.69, at the SEC Championships … Just missed qualifying for the NCAA Championships … Was a double winner in the home finale versus Kentucky, finishing first in both the 100 and 200 back in 56.07 and 2:05.33, respectively … Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll and LSU Director’s Cup … Earned her second varsity letter.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2001-02)
Had a solid freshman campaign as she participated in every dual meet and the Southeastern Conference Championships … Swam the 100 backstroke in a time of 56.06 at the Nike Cup Invitational, the second-fastest time in LSU history and just one second off the record held by Lucy Findlay … Had the team’s best time in the 200 back (2:03.59) in a meet against Tennessee and Kentucky … Also swam in the 50 freestyle during the season … Finished 11th in the finals of the 100 back at the SEC’s with a time of 56.85 … Also participated in the 200 medley relay, 50 free and the 200 back at the SEC Championships … Earned her first varsity letter.
PRIOR TO LSU
Named Atlanta’s Sports and Fitness Athlete of the Year … State champion her senior year at Chattahoochee High School in the 100 backstroke … Third-place finish during the same season in the 50 freestyle competition … Dynamo Swim Club record holder … Scholastic All-American … U.S.S. national champion.
