Against Texas in the first meet of the season placed third in 50-free (22.63) and sixth in 100-free (50.01) … In quad-meet against Navy, George Mason, and Loyola notched second in 50-free (23.09) and second in 100-free (50.99) … Took eighth in 50-free (22.87) in tri-meet Alabama and FSU … At midseasons finished 15th in 50-free (22.96), 14th in 100-back (54.28), and 24th in 100-free (50.84) … In the dual-meet with Texas A&M placed seventh in 100-free (51.60) and fourth in 50-free (23.17) … At SEC Championships competed in 50-free, 100-free, and 100-back

HIGH SCHOOL
Attended the National Hsinchu Commercial Vocational High School in her hometown of Hsinchu, Taiwan… As a freshman in high school, she was selected as a “National Outstanding Young Swimmer” and qualified to compete in the 2022 World Cup… As a representative of Chinese Taipei in the Asian age group competition, she broke the national record in the 50-meter backstroke in March 2024… During her junior year at the National High School Games, she broke all the records in the events she competed in

PERSONAL
Full name is Yu-Fei Liao and goes by “Jessie”… Born on Dec. 1, 2005… When arriving to LSU, she planned to pursue her degree in the Kinesiology major… Her parents’ names are Wen Yi Liao and Hao Tsuen Liao; she has one sibling – a brother named Chin Te Liao… An interesting fact about her is she enjoys watching Korean dramas on TV… Her older brother was also a swimmer until he graduated from high school, and now he plays basketball at his college… Chose LSU because “I am really interested in the academic and swimming program. And I felt very comfortable interacting with the coaches!”
