#999 Jared Strecker Season 2024-25

JUNIOR SEASON (2003-04)
A solid all-around swimmer who showed great versatility … Competed in every meet and the SEC Championships … Was one of two Tigers to qualify for the 100 backstroke finals … Swam a time of 49.48 in the prelims and then capped that with a time of 49.44 in the finals to placed 11th … The time of 49.44 in the finals registered as the sixth-best mark in school history … Also made the 100 butterfly finals and finished 23rd (50.52) … Won the 200 butterfly in the home finale versus Florida State on Jan. 31 (1:53.84) … Competed in several events at the Nike Cup Invitational … Took first-place honors in the 100 back in the home opener against South Carolina on Nov. 7 … Helped the Tigers win the 400 medley relay at Alabama on Oct. 24 … Won the 300 butterfly relay at Clemson on Oct. 3 (2:37.78) … Earned third varsity letter.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2002-03)
A solid all-around swimmer who competed in eight events throughout the year … Swam in every meet of the season and the SEC Championships for the second year in a row … Most impressive performances came in the backstroke, posting the third and second-best times of the season in the 100 and 200 back … Scored a personal-best time in the 100 back at the SEC Championships, finishing 18th in the prelims (51.04) … Also competed in the 200 freestyle and 100 and 200 butterfly at SEC’s … Earned his second varsity letter.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2001-02)
Swam in every meet of the season in his freshman campaign … Competed in three events at the SEC Championships, including both butterfly events and the 50 freestyle in which he placed 41st with a time of 21.76 … Had the team’s second-fastest time in the 200 fly (1:53.92) during the season at the Texas Invitational … Earned his first varsity letter.

PRIOR TO LSU
State champion in the 100 butterfly competition during his senior season … Junior National qualifier in the 100 fly as well as the 100 and 200 freestyle events … High school All-American … Helped lead his high school team to four-straight Louisiana state championships from 1997-2000.
