SOPHOMORE SEASON (2023-24 at LSU)
Clocked a 9:06.92 in the 1000-free during a tri-team meet with FSU & Alabama, which ranked No. 3 in LSU history for the event… In his first season with LSU, claimed two victories during the opening meet with Utah in the distance events, 1000-yard free and 500-yard free, with respective times of 9:28.91 and 4:32.06; also placed second in the 200-yard fly with a time of 1:49.94… In addition to his finish in the 1000-free, Pishko also placed second in the 200-fly (1:48.29) and third in the 500-free (4:28.77)… At the 2023 Art Adamson Invitational, won the 500-free with a time of 4:19.65; he also placed 2nd in the 1650-free (15:05.86), 5th in the 200-fly (1:46.47), and 12th in the 100-meter back (59.85)… Against Texas A&M, won the 200-fly with a time of 1:46.09; also placed 2nd in the 1000-free (9:01.39) and 7th in the 200-back (1:50.02)… At Tennessee, placed 2nd in the 200-fly (1:46.48), 3rd in the 1000-free (9:08.41), and 4th in the 500-free (4:24.70)… At the 2024 SEC Championships, claimed 17th in the 200-fly (1:43.98), 21st in the 500-free (4:19.50), and 22nd in the 1650-free (15:13.81)
FRESHMAN SEASON (2022-23 at Louisville)
Qualified for the ACC Championships as a freshman and placed 11th in the 1650 freestyle (15:11.91)… He was 17th in the 200 fly (1:44.79), 20th in the 200 butterfly (1:46.07) and 26th in the 500 freestyle (4:23.53)… In the dual meet season, he started out his collegiate career with third-place finishes in the 1000 free and the 200 fly and was on the winning 400 Free Relay team… At Tennessee, he was sixth in the 1000 free, the 200 fly and the 400 free relay… At Notre Dame, he was fifth in the 1000 free and the 200 fly and sixth in the 500 freestyle… At the Purdue Invitational, he was fifth in the 1000 free, and fourth in both the 200 fly and the 500 free… Against Kentucky, he was seventh in the 1000 free and fifth in the 200 fly… Against Indiana, he was fifth in the 1000 free and fourth in the 200 fly… In the final dual meet of the season, he touched fourth in the 1650 against Cincinnati
HIGH SCHOOL
Brings competition to the distance group and butterfly events from his prep years at Mercersburg Academy… As a stud swimmer for Lakeside Aquatic Club, Pishko swam at the 2022 Texas Senior Circuit Long Course Meet where he finished 4th in the 400 freestyle, 6th in the 1500 freestyle, 9th in the 200 butterfly, and 12th in the 200 freestyle… In 2021, Pishko competed at the USA Swimming Futures Championship in Huntsville finishing 5th in the 800 freestyle, 6th in the 400 freestyle and 200 butterfly, and 8th in the 1500 freestyle… This USA Swimming 2021-22 National Junior Team Member has best times of 4:00.80 in the 400 freestyle, 8:15.53 in the 800 freestyle, 15:53.72 in the 1500 freestyle, 1:46.27 in the 200 butterfly
PERSONAL
Full name is Jacob Edwin Pishko and was born on Sept. 24, 2003 in Fort Worth, Texas… Planned major heading into his sophomore year at LSU is Kinesiology… Has two siblings – one brother named Josh and another brother named Jordan… His parent’s names are Beth and Jeff… An interesting fact: “I colored myself head to toe with green markers when I was little”… Chose LSU because: “I decided to come to LSU because of the coaching staff. They have a great vision for the program and are building something great here, and I wanted to play a part in that. The people here are also very friendly, and I don’t know another campus that has a live mascot like Mike.”
