JUNIOR SEASON (2023-24)
Opened the season at Utah by winning the 100-back with a time of 50.09 and winning the 200-back with a time of 1:47.65; also placed fifth in the 100-fly with a time of 50.87… In a tri-team meet with FSU and Alabama, claimed fourth in the 100-back (49.37), second in the 200-back (1:47.11), and sixth in the 100-fly (49.32)… In the midseason meet at the Art Adamson Invitational, placed third in the 100-back (47.27) and fifth in the 200-back (1:43.66)… Against Texas A&M, had two second-place finishes in the 100-back (47.93) and 200-back (1:45.39)… At Tennessee, won the 100-back event with a time of 47.72; also earned a third-place finish in the 200-back (1:48.36)… At the SEC Championships, placed 11th in the 200-back (1:40.82 – school record), 12th in the 200-IM (1:44.21 – school record), and 15th in the 100-back (46.27)… At the 2024 NCAA Championships, placed 18th as a member of the 400-yard medley relay (1:16.86 – school record), 18th in the 200-yard medley relay (1:24.12), 18th in the 800-yard free relay (6:16.35 – school record), and 20th in the 200-yard free relay (1:16.86)
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2022-23)
In a dual meet against South Carolina, won the 200-back with a time of 1:47.86, claimed fifth place in the 100-back with a time of 50.17 and placed seventh in the 200 IM with a time of 1:54.00… For a tri-team meet with Denver and Air Force, won the 100-back and 200 IM with respective times of 50.14 and 1:53.22; claimed third in 200-back with a time of 1:50.60… In an SEC meet vs. Auburn, placed third in the 200-back (1:47.49), fourth in the 100-back (49.45) and sixth in the 200-IM (1:52.47)… For the second consecutive conference battle – this time against Alabama – claimed second in the 100-back (48.78), third in the 200-back (1:46.79), and third in the 200-IM (1:51.04)… In the team’s midseason Art Adamson Invite meet, placed 17th in the 200-IM (1:46.78), 22nd in the 100-fly (48.44), ninth in the 100-back (47.87) and 12th in the 200-back (1:44.48)… Against FSU, took second place in the 100-back (48.91) and 200-back (1:47.16)… In the final regular season meet vs. Texas A&M, won the 100-back with a time of 48.68 and took second in the 200-back (1:46.71)… At the 2023 SEC Championships, placed 32nd in the 200-IM (1:46.11), 26th in the 100-back (47.51), and 18th in the 200-back (1:42.08)
FRESHMAN SEASON (2021-22)
Opened up his first season with two wins against Grand Canyon, one in the 100-yard backstroke and another in the 200-yard backstroke; placed fifth in the 200-yard IM and was the first leg for the first-place finisher in the 200-yard medley relay… At the Rocky Mountain Invitational, he won the 100-yard back and 200-yard back with times of 49.88 and 1:50.23; placed third in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:52.89 and seventh in the 100-yard fly with a time of 51.11… Against Alabama, finished with a second-place time in the 200-yard back (1:47.21); placed third in the 100-yard back with a time of 49.21 and fourth in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:51.96… At the Art Adamson Invitational, finished in fourth place for the 200-back with a time of 1:44.46 and ninth in 100-back with a time of 47.87; also placed 14th in the 200-IM with a time of 1:47.95 and 18th in the 100-fly with a time of 48.47… Against Texas A&M, had two second-place finishes in the 100- and 200-back with respective times of 49.47 and 1:47.83… At the 2022 SEC Championships, claimed 32nd place in the 200 IM with a time of 1:47.13, 21st place in the 100-back with a time of 48.03, and 22nd in the 200-back with a time of 1:44.09; a part of the school record-breaking relay team in the 200-yard medley with a time of 1:24.79
PERSONAL
Born October 10, 2002… His hometown is Grand Blanc, MI, where he attended Grand Blanc HS… In his academic journey, he majors in business management… Has two parents Paishann and Joseph with five siblings – Quentin, Bailey, Emma, Jonah and Sophie… His mother achieved All-State honors in basketball and softball, while his dad played basketball… He chose LSU because “(Coaches and teammates) treat me like family, and family is everything.”
