JUNIOR SEASON (2002-03)
One of the top swimmer’s in LSU history … Shattered three school records during the season … Broke his own school record in the 100 backstroke, 46.97, at the NCAA Championships … The time was the third-fastest time in the SEC all season and ninth-fastest nationally … Finished sixth in the finals of the 100 backstroke, earning All- America honors for the third consecutive season … Teamed with Mike Jotautas, Matthew Rucker and Francisco Paez to break school records in the 200 (1.27.81) and 400 (3:13.58) medley relays at the NCAA Championships … The group placed eighth in the finals of the 200-medley relay and earned All-America distinction … Finished ninth in the consolation final of the 400-medley relay at NCAA’s … Competed with the same group to finish 17th in the prelims of the 200 freestyle relay at NCAA’s (1:21.05) … Became the first Tiger swimmer to earn All-SEC honors since 1998, finishing second in the finals of the 100 backstroke at the SEC Championships (47.36) … Placed 12th in the consolation final of the 200 butterfly at the SEC Championships (1:48.85) … Named SEC Swimmer of the Week on Feb. 4 for his performance in the final two meets of the regular season … Won the 100 butterfly and 200 medley relay against UL-Monroe and Delta State … Placed first in three events in the home finale versus Kentucky, 100 and 200 backstroke and the 100 butterfly … Voted the “Most Valuable” swimmer on the squad … Earned his third varsity letter.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2001-02)
Broke his own school record in the 100 backstroke as he swam the event in a time of 47.31 in the prelims at the NCAA Championships … Finished eighth in the finals if the event with a time of 47.82 in the finals … Earned All-America honors in the 100 backstroke for the second-straight year … Was the highest finisher from the SEC in the 100-backstroke at the NCAA’s … Swam in four events at the SEC Championships, including both the 200 and 400 medley relay and both backstroke events … Finished fourth in the finals of the 100 backstroke with a time of 48.14, the third top-10 finish at the SEC’s in his young career … Swam in all but one meet during the season and was one of only two Tigers to compete at both the SEC and NCAA Championships … Swam in four events at the Nike Cup Invitational, as he was part of the winning teams on both the 200 and 400 medley relays and also placed in the top three twice as an individual … Finished third in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:51.56 and placed second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 50.15 … Had LSU’s best time in both the 100 and 200 backstroke during the season … Won the 100 backstroke at the SEC Quad Meet with a time of 49.86 … Second in the 200 at the same meet with a time of 1:50.97 … Won the 100 backstroke at Alabama with a time of 50.06 and placed second in the 200 with a time of 1:50.82 … Named the “Most Valuable Swimmer” on the squad following the season … Earned his second varsity letter.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2000-01)
Set the LSU record in the 100 backstroke by recording a time of 48.20 at the SEC Championships … Earned NCAA All-American status in both the 100 backstroke and 200 individual medley competitions … Qualified for the NCAA Championships as a freshman and placed 13th in the 100 backstroke competition … Recorded an NCAA “B” cut time in the 100 butterfly event … Member of the 200 medley relay team that placed 14th at the NCAA Championships … Competed at the SEC Championships and finished sixth in the 100 backstroke and eighth in the 100 butterfly … Recorded the SEC’s fourth-fastest time of the season in the 100 backstroke and the eighth-fastest mark in the 100 butterfly competition … Led the Tigers’ medley relay teams during every dual meet … Earned his first varsity letter.

PRIOR TO LSU
Named an All-American all four years in high school … Competed in the Olympic Trials in 2000 … Swam several NCAA “B” cut times his senior season … Four-year team captain at Woodrow Wilson High School … Led the team to three Washington state championships in high school … Won the High Point Award at the state championship meet his sophomore, junior and senior seasons … Holds both the district and state records in the 100 backstroke competition … District record holder in the 100 butterfly.
