JUNIOR SEASON (2012)
Saw action in two matches during her junior season … Made her first appearance in a 1-1 draw with Rice in LSU’s home opener … Also came off the bench in one match in SEC play as the Tigers dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to 18th-ranked Kentucky … Honored for her academic performance with her first career selection to the SEC Academic Honor Roll … Earned her third varsity letter.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2011)
Cracked LSU’s starting lineup at right back in 12 matches as a sophomore in 2011 … Made a total of 18 appearances in 22 matches on the season … Helped the Tigers claim their fourth SEC Western Division championship and at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament in five seasons … Also helped the Tigers earn a runner-up finish in the final SEC standings for the third time in four seasons with a 13-8-1 overall record and 8-3 mark for 24 points in league play … Made her first appearance in an NCAA Tournament match against No. 3 seed Texas A&M in a first-round match played in College Station … Helped form the foundation of a defensive unit that finished the season with a 1.24 goals against average while allowing 28 goals to opponents during the 2011 season … Also helped the Tigers pitch eight shutouts on the season … Attempted two shots on the offensive end … Earned her second varsity letter.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2010)
Played in nine games as a reserve forward and midfielder in 2010 … Also saw action along LSU’s back line early in the season … Credited with an assist in her collegiate debut in an 8-0 shutout of South Alabama in LSU’s season opener … Finished the season with one point for her efforts … Attempted nine total shots with four shots on goal on the season … Earned her first varsity letter as an LSU Tiger.

Full name is Shannon Elizabeth McLain … Born on April 8, 1992 … Daughter of Rex and Ann McLain … Has a younger brother, Chase … Mother ran track at Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio, and was the school record holder in the 100 meters, 200 meters, 4×100-meter relay and 4×400-meter relay … A Student Council Executive at Klein High School from 2008-10 … Served as a Stand Leader during her senior year in 2009-10, which is an elected spirit group for varsity sporting events at Klein HS … A three-year member of Young Life … Participated in community service projects with Habitat for Humanity and the United Methodist Army … Is also a member of the Children of the American Revolution and the Youth Fellowship at her church … Pursuing a degree in sport administration with a concentration in sport commerce.
