JUNIOR SEASON (2024)
Made 15 starts in the circle and appeared in 23 games…Had an 11-5 record with a 2.86 ERA behind 76 strikeouts in 88.0 innings pitched… Held opponents to a .224 batting average and tossed four complete games, three shutouts and had two saves… Threw a season-high seven strikeouts against Pittsburgh (Feb.10) and Jackson State (May 17).
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2023)
Appeared in 16 games and started 11 games in the circle … Went 6-1 with four complete games … Had a 2.74 ERA behind 33 strikeouts in 53.2 innings pitched… Pitched a complete game against Missouri, allowing one earned run on four hits (April 7)…Struck out a season-high eight batters in the Baton Rouge Regional versus Prairie View A&M (May 19).
FRESHMAN SEASON (2022)
Started in 10 games in the circle with 14 total appearances … Turned in a 6-2 record with a 3.23 ERA, 48 strikeouts, two complete games and one shutout in 56.1 innings pitched … Won SEC Freshman of the Week (March 15) after being one batter shy of a perfect game against then No. 2 Alabama … Pitched for a season-high 7.0 innings in the Central Connecticut St. game on March 6 and tallied a season-high 12 strikeouts.
HIGH SCHOOL
A two-time Pitcher of the Year honoree for Airline High School … was also tabbed First Team All-State, Defensive MVP, First Team All-District and First Team All-City in high school … Led her team to a semifinal finish as a sophomore recording 274 strikeouts with a 0.85 ERA her sophomore season where she finished with a 21-3 record with 141 innings pitched … as a freshman, she led her team to the state quarterfinals and finished her rookie campaign with 272 strikeouts in 153 innings pitched with a 1.05 ERA and a 21-4 record … played club ball for Texas Glory-Shelton and in the summer of 2017 and 2018 she played for Impact Gold-Jackson … won the USA Elite Tournament in Kansas City, Mo. in 2017 with Impact … Chaffin is the 14th best player in the class of 2021 according to Extra Inning Softball and the 9th best pitcher in the country.
PERSONAL
Born on Oct. 2, 2002 … daughter of Edmund and Laurie Chaffin … has a sister named Makenzie who is a student-athlete for Northwestern State University softball team … plans to major in psychology and pre-nursing.
