Made 13 starts in 38 appearances for the Tigers … In 42 at bats she hit for a .310 average while compiling 13 hits … Scored 16 runs during the season … Successfully stole a base eight times in nine attempts … Went 2-2 against Illinois State with two runs and one RBI.

HIGH SCHOOL
Was a decorated prep athlete at Parkview Baptist in Baton Rouge, playing softball for five years under former LSU standout Ashlee (Ducote) Weems and competing in track and field… Was a five-time all-state selection, six time all-district and all-metro selection, while being named during her career the district most valuable player, Baton Rouge Metro most valuable player and the Nola.com-Times Picayune most valuable player… Was twice the recipient of the Marucci Louisiana Softball Player of the Year Award and finished as a senior in being named the MaxPreps Small Schools Softball Player of the Year… Was named an NFCA High School All-American and a MaxPreps Preseason All-American… As a senior hit .658 with five home runs, 36 RBIs, 65 runs scored and 58 stolen bases, earning the NFCA’s Golden Shoe award for the nation’s top base stealer… Holds the Louisiana school record in steals, hits and runs scored, while setting the national record for triples with 49… Ranked in the top 10 nationally in steals, runs scored and triples… Was named the district MVP in basketball as an eighth grader and is a third-degree black belt in Taekwondo.

Full name is Nicole Lynn Dawson, born November 8 in El Dorado, Arkansas… Daughter of Charles and Kelli Dawson… Father Charles was an All-American catcher at Southern Arkansas, playing professionally in the Atlanta Braves organization… Has five siblings in Cody, Jay, Dee, Andrew and Amy… Plans to major in electrical engineering.
