2023 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2024)

Appeared in two games in the circle…was 2-0 in the circle with five strikeouts in 9.0 innings… Tossed her first complete-game shutout of her career versus Memphis (Feb. 9) with three strikeouts and relinquished just two hits on opening weekend.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2023)
Appeared in eight games total, five as a pinch hitter and three as a pitcher…In the circle, she pitched 3.0 innings where she struck out two batters and allowed four hits and two walks…At the plate, she had one-hit which was her first career double against NC State (April 2).

HIGH SCHOOL

A cum laude graduate from Clear Spring High School…named 24-6A District MVP, was an All-American and All-State selection and was also tabbed All-Galveston Co-Player of the Year…her senior season she was 28-4 in the circle with a 0.98 ERA, 268 strikeouts and handed out 31 walks to help lead Clear Springs to a District 24-6A Championship…as a junior Strood posted a 22-1 record with 240 strikeouts in 145 innings pitched and hit .415 with 40 hits and seven home runs…played club for the Birmingham Thunderbolts in 2020-21 and played for the Texas Bombers in 2022…ranked as the No. 10 recruit in the country according to Softball America and is ranked T-No. 40 by Extra Inning Softball.

PERSONAL

Born on Jan. 28, 2004…daughter of Justin and Laura…has a sister named Alee…father played basketball at San Jacinto College (1997-98)…plans to major in sports administration with a minor in business.
