Eric DeRoche Season 2024-25

2006 ITA Scholar-Athlete

CAREER
DeRoche joined the LSU tennis team as a walk on after not participating in tennis for two years. DeRoche saw limited action during his two years as a Tiger but was effective when given the opportunity. Known for his intensity and work ethic, DeRoche provided depth to the Tigers whom were limited to eight players his senior year. DeRoche excelled in the classroom as he was named an ITA Scholar Athlete his first year with the team. 

SENIOR SEASON (2006-07)
Won four of his five matches in the spring … Won his first SEC dual match against Bradwin Williams of Arkansas, 6-3, 6-4, on April 14 ,,, In the fall, teamed up with Martel Campbell to take the C flight doubles bracket title at the Rice Invitational … Teamed up with Kevin Dessauer to win the doubles bracket at the Ragin’ Cajun Classic … Notched 4-4 wins in singles and 7-1 wins in doubles … earned second varsity letter.

JUNIOR SEASON (2005-06)
Walked on to the team during the fall after a two year absence from tennis … Named an ITA Scholar-Athlete … Compiled a 6-4 record in singles and 4-2 in doubles … Saw limited action in the spring, only competing in three singles matches and two doubles matches … In the fall, played in three tournaments … Qualified for the ITA Southeast Regional Championships … Earned first varsity letter.

PRIOR TO LSU
Two-time state singles champion at St. Martin’s … Team MVP all four years of high school … Suffered only one defeat his senior year, in the state championship.
