Juan Pablo Reggiardo is entering his third season as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Men’s Basketball Program.  He was named to the position in July, 2008.

Prior to joining the Tigers, Coach Reggiardo worked in the same capacity at Stanford University in California where he worked with Head Men’s Basketball Coach Trent Johnson from 2004-2008.  His primary responsibilities while with the Cardinal were directing all of the strength needs for the Men’s Basketball and Women’s Volleyball programs, as well as the Men’s and Women’s Sailing teams.

Prior to arriving at Stanford, he served as Director of Athletics for the Riekes Center for Human Enhancement in Menlo Park, CA, a non-profit program for adolescents.  At the Riekes Center Coach Reggiardo was responsible for overseeing the development of all of the programs within the Athletic Department, as well as directing its Pinnacle and Synergy programs, which serviced collegiate and professional athletes.  He worked at the Riekes Center from 1999-2004, and served as Director of Athletics from 2002-2004.

At LSU Coach Reggiardo is responsible for the basketball team’s physical training needs which include strength, power, and speed development as well as flexibility and mobility training.  He takes a holistic approach to training every athlete, which includes not only enhancing each athlete’s physical attributes, but also helping each develop the mental fortitude necessary for competing at this level of competition.

He incorporates many training strategies from the use competitive team and individual training drills to balance training, yoga, massage, and other relaxation techniques and recovery modalities. In addition, he also oversees each athlete’s individual nutritional needs throughout the year.

Coach Reggiardo graduated from the University of Arizona with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology and Psychology. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a Performance Enhancement Specialist and a Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, a Titleist Performance Institute Certified Golf Fitness Instructor-Fitness Pro Level 1, a United States Weightlifting Federation Certified Club Coach, as well as a United States Track & Field Level 1 Coach.
