Brittany Carvalhido has completed her 10th season on the men’s basketball staff in 2019-20, serving her third year as administrative assistant for head coach Will Wade.
The former college basketball player has worked 14 seasons with a Division I basketball staff.
Carvalhido completed her playing career at Oklahoma State in 2005, where she was a two-year letter winner. In her senior season, she was team co-captain and an Academic Big 12 selection.
Before arriving at Oklahoma State, Carvalhido played two seasons at Hutchinson (Kansas) Community College and helped her teams win 47 games. She was a two-time All-Region selection and completed her career there as the school’s career leader for 3-point field goals with 203 and eighth all-time leading scorer (779 points).
She was an All-Jayhawk Conference first-team performer as a freshman.
Carvalhido started her coaching career at Tulsa where she served as the video coordinator on the women’s basketball coaching staff from 2005-07. From Tulsa, she moved on to Rice where she served as the director of basketball operations during the 2007-08 season.
Carvalhido was hired as the director of basketball operations on the LSU women’s coaching staff in the spring of 2008 where she served in that position until joining the LSU men’s basketball staff, first as executive assistant to the head coach and then into her present position.
Carvalhido is a native of Osborne, Kansas, where she was a four-year all-state athlete in basketball, tennis and track. She received her bachelor’s degree in education from Oklahoma State in 2005.
She is married to Joe Carvalhido, Vice-President of Operations and Services for the Tiger Athletic Foundation. They have two children: Dane (8) and Ian (5).
