CAREER
Played in 49 games, starting 35 times … Capped career with 183 tackles, 11 tackles for losses, four interceptions and three sacks … Selected to play in the East-West Shrine Game in Houston.

SENIOR SEASON (2006)
LSU’s quarterback in the secondary … Played in 12 games with 11 starts at strong safety for the Tigers … Missed the  Alabama contest with a hamstring injury … Recorded 47 tackles (24 solo, 23 assisted) … Also been credited with 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack, two PBU, a quarterback hurry and a forced fumble … Was the Tigers’ leading tackler against ULL, recording a career-high tying eight tackles … Also had a tackle for a loss and a sack against the Ragin’ Cajuns … Registered seven tackles, all solo stops, against Florida … Also recovered a fumble and was credited with a tackle for loss against the Gators.

JUNIOR SEASON (2005)
Played and started in 11 games … Missed the Appalachian State game with a shoulder injury and was then forced to sit out the SEC Championship game against Georgia with an ankle injury … Returned to full strength against Miami in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl helping lead the Tigers to a 40-3 win over the Hurricanes … Recorded 39 tackles, including 4.5 tackles for loss, from the strong safety position …. Added 2 sacks and 1 interception … Interception came against Ole Miss … Had a sack for a 9-yard loss against Tennessee and added a sack for a 12-yard loss against Vanderbilt … Recorded a season-high 7 tackles in win over Arkansas … Had 6 stops, 1.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble and pass breakup in overtime loss to Tennessee.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2004)
Starter at strong safety in all 12 games … Third on the team with 64 tackles, including 31 solo stops … Added 2 tackles for loss and 3 interceptions … Had 2 fourth quarter interceptions in win over Ole Miss to halt a Rebel comeback attempt … Played last three games of the regular season with a cast on his right hand after having a pin inserted following an injury against Vanderbilt … Did not miss any game action with the injury … Had season-high 8 tackles in win over Florida, including a critical stop on third-down for the Tigers that forced a Florida punt late in the fourth quarter … Other interception came against Mississippi State … Recovered a fumble vs. Vanderbilt.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2003)
True freshman who saw action in all 14 games with one start for the Tigers … Key member of LSU special teams coverage units  … Listed as LSU’s starter when the Tigers played their dime package on defense … Started LSU’s season-opener against UL-Monroe as the Tigers opened with a six defensive back set against the Indians … Registered 33 tackles, 23 of which were solo … Added 2 tackles for loss, 9 quarterback hurries and 5 pass breakups … Had 6 tackles in win over Arkansas and added 5 in victories over UL-Monroe and South Carolina … Capped season with 1 tackle for a 2-yard loss and a pass breakup in LSU’s win over Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl … Finished the year by seeing action on 553 plays, 381 coming on defense and 172 on special teams.

HIGH SCHOOL
One of the state’s top defensive backs in 2002 … As a senior, recorded 62 tackles and 5 interceptions in just eight games at free safety earning first-team 4A all-state honors for a third-straight year … Recognized by Rivals.com as the No. 32 safety in the country … Member of FSN South’s Countdown to Signing Day “All-South” Third Team, Baton Rouge Advocate Second Dozen and The Shreveport Times’ Top 20 … Showed great speed (4.5 40-yard dash) as a starting running back … Picked off two passes and returned them for a total of 98 yards in a victory over 5A quarterfinalist Acadiana on Sept. 6, 2002 … Played bi-district and regional playoff rounds with a broken hand … Was the first commitment in the 2003 signing class, giving the Tigers his pledge in February of 2002 … Coached by Mike Mowad.

PERSONAL
Nickname is Country … Born Jan. 8, 1984 … Majoring in general studies … On pace to graduate in the spring of 2007 as he enters the 2006 fall semester just 22 hours shy of earning his degree … Hobbies include fishing and hunting … Has a stocked pond in his backyard … Listens to “In the Air Tonight” by Phil Collins before every game … Credits his hobby of duck hunting with making him a better football player … “It (duck hunting) teaches you how to be patient. You can’t make any sudden moves. I think it helps me play football better.” … Last year, the day before LSU beat Arkansas to win the SEC Western Division, Daniels was in a marsh duck hunting … Aspires to coach high school football or serve as a little league baseball coach.
