JUNIOR SEASON (2000): Played in four games with starts against Tennessee and Florida … Capped year by coming off the bench in the second half to lead the Tigers to a 28-14 win over Georgia Tech in the Peach Bowl … Completed 17 of 25 passes for 174 yards and an LSU bowl-record tying three TD passes in win over Georgia Tech … Finished the year completing 38-of-59 passes for 577 yards and seven touchdowns with just one interception … Named SEC Player of the Week after completing 23-of-35 passes for 318 yards and a school-record tying four touchdowns in LSU’s 38-31 overtime win over 11th-ranked Tennessee … Also named National Player of the Week by USA Today and for his performance vs. Tennessee … Played majority of Tennessee game on badly sprained ankle … Hit tight end Robert Royal with a 25-yard TD pass on LSU’s first play in overtime for what proved to be the winning score vs. the Vols … Opened the year by completing all 11 of his passes for 194 yards and three TDs in win over Western Carolina … The 11-of-11 performance set a school record and it also ran his string of consecutive completions to 17, a streak that dated back to the Arkansas game in 1999 … The 17 straight completions tied for the third most in SEC history … Played on a sore ankle vs. Florida, completed 4-of-12 passes with one interception for 65 yards … Played one series vs. Auburn and was 0-for-1 passing … Selected as one of three LSU team captains by his teammates … Also received the award for Most Inspirational on the squad … Returned to action in August despite tearing ACL in February warming up for a charity basketball game.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (1999): The Tigers’ backup quarterback in 1999 … Started two games and played in seven games on the year … Completed 31 of 52 passes for 491 yards, including four touchdowns and four interceptions … Had his most efficient performance at home against North Texas where he completed all six of his passes for 66 yards and a touchdown … Enjoyed his best game of the year in the season finale against Arkansas, as he came off bench to complete 10 of 12 passes for 224 yards and three touchdowns … Was named SEC Player of the Week for his performance against Arkansas … Starts came against North Texas and Auburn.

REDSHIRT FRESHMAN SEASON (1998): Played in two games and recorded no statistics … Took snaps vs. Arkansas State and Idaho … Played in six plays from scrimmage in those two games … The Tigers’ No. 3 quarterback in 1998 behind Herb Tyler and Craig Nall.

HIGH SCHOOL: Two-time all-state and two-time All-Dade County by the Miami Herald … Member of Atlanta Journal Constitution Super Southern 100 … All-district 13-6A his senior year … Led team to 10-4 record, losing in state semifinals to Carol City who went on to win the state title … No. 6 in Superprep National 50 and No. 3 in Superprep Florida 88 … Totaled 2,318 yards for 28 touchdowns and only 7 interceptions, while rushing for 436 yards and 5 TDs as a senior…As a junior completed 78 of 108 passes for 1808 yards and 24 TDs…Rushed for 388 yds on just 30 carries (12.9 avg) and 1 TD…Totaled over 4,500 yds total offense for final 2 seasons at Miami Lakes H.S. … Averaged 17.0 points a game in basketball … Coached in football by Jerry Hughes.
