2003 SEC Academic Honor Roll
Classic overachiever who has made the most of an opportunity … Went from being a scout teamer in first two years with the Tigers to becoming a key member of LSU’s special teams … Has also positioned himself into seeing playing time as a wide receiver … In fourth season with the Tigers after walking on to the team in 2001.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2003)
A walk-on who earned a spot on the team … Key contributor on LSU’s special teams … Played in 13 games … Finished with 10 special teams tackles, including two each in games vs. Louisiana-Monroe, Mississippi State, Louisiana Tech and Arkansas … Suffered a broken hand vs. Louisiana Tech and had to sit out the Alabama game … Forced a fumble against Arizona … Caught first pass of career vs. South Carolina on a 5-yard reception from Marcus Randall … Played a total of 181 snaps with 169 of those coming on special teams.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2002)
Did not see any game action for LSU in 2002 … Redshirted as a true freshman in 2001.
HIGH SCHOOL
Three-sport standout at Holy Cross High School … Earned letters in football, baseball and track … First Team All-District and All-Metro in football … Caught 52 passes for 1,018 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior … Also returned a kickoff for a TD … Caught 81 passes for 1,563 yards and 19 TDs for his prep career … Coached in high school by Scott Barnsfather.
