Capped his LSU career by playing in 47 games, starting 34 times … Earned second-team All-SEC honors in both 2007 and 2008 … Three-year starter at middle linebacker for the Tigers … Recorded 189 tackles, 11.5 tackles for losses and 4.5 sacks during his collegiate career … Signed a free agent contract with the San Diego Chargers a day after the 2009 NFL Draft.

SENIOR SEASON (2008)
Played and started in 11 games … Named one of eight finalists for the 2008 Butkus Award, which goes to the top linebacker in college football … Named second-team All-SEC by the Associated Press … Missed two games (Auburn and Mississippi State) with an injury suffered in the second quarter against North Texas … Had eight tackles in back-to-back games against Troy and Ole Miss … Capped year with 3-tackle game in bowl win over Georgia Tech … Had six tackles, including one for a 2-yards loss, vs. Alabama … Had five tackles and half a sack in season-opener vs. Appalachian State … Had five solo tackles in road win over South Carolina.

JUNIOR SEASON (2007)
Started all 12 games in which he played at middle linebacker … Earned second-team All-SEC honors from the league’s coaches … Missed two games (Louisiana Tech and Ole Miss) with a minor knee injury … Ranked fifth on team in total tackles with 65 … Added 6.5 tackles for losses, 1.5 sacks and an interception … His interception came against Tennessee in the SEC Championship game … Interception stopped a Vols drive deep in LSU territory that could have tied the game with just over two minutes to play … Recorded a career-high 12 tackles against Kentucky … Was just off that pace versus Arkansas, registering 11 tackles … Led the Tigers with seven solo tackles and a PBU in the win over Alabama … Had six stops, including two for losses and a sack, in the Tigers’ shutout of Middle Tennessee.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2006)
Versatile linebacker who moved from outside (will) linebacker to middle (mike) linebacker midway through the season … Played in 12 games with 11 starts … Missed the Ole Miss game (Game 11) after suffering a knee injury just seven plays into the Alabama contest … Returned to action against Arkansas in the regular-season finale, finishing with five tackles in the 31-26 Tiger victory … Finished the year as the Tigers’ second-leading tackler with 65 stops, a total that included 36 solo tackles … Was also credited with four tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, an interception and a quarterback hurry … Recorded the first pick of his career in the Tigers’ victory over Tennessee … Turned in a career-high 11 tackles in the Tigers’ win over Fresno State … Was also credited with a tackle for loss and a sack in that victory … Against Arizona, had nine tackles to go along with a career-high 1.5 TFL and 1.5 sacks … Was nearly as good against Auburn, leading the team with eight tackles … Played key role in LSU’s 41-14 win over Notre Dame, posting four tackles for a Tiger defense that limited the Irish to only 292 yards of offense.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2005)
Played in 12 games with no starts … Saw most of his action on special teams … Saw spot duty at linebacker … Tallied eight tackles, including five solo … Had a career-best three tackles in win over North Texas … One of only two true freshmen (other was running back Steve Korte) to see action for the Tigers in 2005.

HIGH SCHOOL
Widely considered the state’s top linebacker and one of the top prospects in the south … Member of Tom Lemming’s High School All-America team … Rated No. 9 outside linebacker in the nation by ESPN … 3A Defensive MVP in Louisiana as a senior … First-team 3A all-state and was named to the New Orleans Times-Picayune’s Top 20 Blue-Chip list for Louisiana … Totaled over 100 tackles as both a junior and senior … As a senior, made 135 tackles, including 20 for losses, and six sacks en route earning 3A defensive MVP honors … Also recovered four fumbles … Showed his athletic versatility as a standout running back as well … Part of defensive unit that reached the 3A state quarterfinals in 2004 … Totaled 140 tackles as a junior and earned honorable mention all-state recognition … Coached by Kenny Guillot.
